Readers’ comments: The PM is on XR’s side

In response to Ollie Wright: Police do the eco thugs’ job for them,

I’m Old Fashioned wrote:

It seems to be a popular assumption (wishful thinking perhaps?) that rank and file policemen and women are still the same straight, reliable coppers they always were and that the Common Purpose-directed double standards, demonstrated daily by the British police ‘service’, is all the fault of university-educated senior officers, many of them third-wave feminists. But it’s hard to reconcile that narrative with the sheer visceral bully-boy zeal with which they scream their orders at inoffensive law-abiding citizens one minute, then start doing the conga with lawbreakers the next. From my observations, the really serious and worrying aspect of the ‘police problem’ is not that it goes all the way up to the top, but that it goes all the way down.

Newman Noggs wrote:

The police stood by in Nazi Germany, while the brownshirts, the ‘Sturmabteilung’ smashed up Jewish properties and people. That didn’t turn out well, did it? When the police watch approvingly as the mob get to work, we are all in danger. We pay them to protect us, the law abiding, not the mindless thugs.

JewishKuffar wrote:

Senior politicians right up to the PM clearly agree with XR. It is somewhat cringe-worthy but highly revealing when they use XR’s favourered buzz-word of the ‘climate emergency.’ PM Johnson has already made their aims of banning petrol/diesel cars and going ‘net-zero’ by 2050 into official Government policy. All that it left for them to do is dig up the lawns, whilst their representatives in Parliament carry out their objectives for them.

The People’s Greyhound Q.C. wrote:

I feel sorry for the police. Forced to stand around in February in those cold scything Fenland winds, when they could be tucked up all nice and cosy, scanning Facebook for hurty words.

Adam wrote:

A few weeks of jail time would be a suitable reward for repeat vandalism and disruption. They won’t get a great reception from other prisoners, who generally are about as un-PC as you can get, and will see them as spoilt rich kids. I am a retired screw so have spent half my life in prison.
