In response to Robert James: In C4’s Brexit drama the Remainers are reasonable and the Leavers are loonies. Cripes, didn’t see that one coming!, Hector Drummond, vile novelist wrote:

How many people voted for the Leave campaign?

None.

How many people voted for the Remain campaign?

None.

People voted to leave the EU, or to remain in it. They didn’t vote for the campaigns. In most cases – especially in the case of Leave – they
voted *despite* the campaigns.
